In 1989, Bonnie was working as a missionary for AMOR Ministries in Fullerton, California. AMOR Ministries builds homes for the needy in Mexico and at that time they were relocating to the San Diego area to be closer to the mission field where they worked. The founders of AMOR were also planting a new inner-city church. It was at that time Bonnie decided she wanted to have a Deaf Ministry at the new church.
She heard about a sign language class at a nearby church. To prepare for her new ministry, she went and met Bill Rennie, who was the teacher of the class. Bonnie fell in love with the language (and the teacher!) and continued to learn from Bill for the next few years. He helped her establish a Deaf Ministry at her home church in Anaheim and after dating for 3 years, they were married in December of 1992.
Together they established the SIGN LANGUAGE FACTORY, where Bonnie helps run the business and coordinates all activities.
Along with her duties of being co-owner of the SIGN LANGUAGE FACTORY, Bonnie is also a certified sign language interpreter. Her hobbies are her kids, her animals (3 dogs and a bunny) and riding her Harley on a warm, sunny day!
